About Last Night's CNN/YouTube Debate
The questions were awful and some of the questioners need to be kept under house arrest.
Mitt Romney sucked big time and had several moments of intense flop sweat (most notably his exchange with John McCain on torture).
I now officially consider Rudy Giuliani a non-entity in the 2008 presidential race. He has far too much baggage (personal and professional) to be accepted by the moral conservatives and in his mad rush to suck up to them he's alienating the moderates that would actually vote for him.
Plus he speaks with a lisp, we are way too superficial a nation to elect a guy who talks like Sylvester the Cat.
Fred Thompson has confirmed all suspicions that he is a shiftless, lightweight dud and it amazes me how swiftly he blew all of that undeserved good will that was heaped on him prior to his entering the race.
What was with McCain and that "veto pin" nonsense? It looked like a regular old Sharpie to me. Speaking of McCain he spent far too mcub of the debate speaking in campaign slogans but he actually seemed presidential when going at Romney over torture.
Ron Paul should bitchslap somebody at CNN because that question about the North American Union conspiracy was a total set up question posed to do one thing...try and make Paul look like a kook. He gets credit for how he handled the question though.
And last nights winner (who also my pick to get the nomination) was Mike Huckabee. He embodies all the things that people who voted for Bush twice love. He's folksy, God fearing and genuinely likable. if he can just add a pinch of "shit-kicker" to his personality he could be a lock to hoodwink the GOP faithful.
He also handled himself the best of all the contenders, Keep an eye on Mike.
